The metal jacketed gasket is a semi metallic gasket that is filled with the highly cushioning filler of excellent heat resistance and corrosion resistance and coated with a metallic plate.
Metallic materials feature the high strength and heat resistance while the resilience and sealing performance are insufficient. Non-metallic fillers are highly resilient but their physical strength is not enough.
As this product is filled with the highly resilient filler and covered with metallic materials of high strength, this metallic gasket is a highly resilient sealing material.
Recently, many gasket products include graphite on the top and bottom at both sides for better sealing performance. Such products are appropriate in the condition of 500 ℃ or less and under 60 kgf/cm2.
These products are most commonly used at complicated partitions such as heat exchangers. Specifically, these are widely used in such areas as a pressurized container, man-hole, boiler, valve bonnet, ordinary piping flange, duct piping, etc.
