The diaphragm is a gasket made of metallic materials. This is used even at ultra high pressure since the welding seam prevents leakage. This product is used mainly at the cover or edge of a heat exchanger. The thickness is adjustable between 10 and 15 mm as customers' request.
The material is the same as other ordinary flanges. To check if there is leakage prior to welding, a supplementary gasket may be used.
Applicable supplementary gaskets include the spiral wound gasket, serrated metal gasket, and hiflex metal gasket. The diaphragm gasket may be used with a processed groove inserted. Such supplementary gaskets not only prevent leakage due to corrosion at a welding part but also are useful for tests to check leakage in pressurized containers, pipes, etc. prior to welding.
