With the '2001,' several small holes are bored on the outer or the inner diameter of the hollow metal O-ring, and pressurized fluid is inserted into the hollow metal O-ring as if it is press-fitted. The fluid pressure is applied onto the contact surface pressure of the O-ring and creates an effect that resembles a large contact surface pressure being uniformly provided onto the sealing surface. It offers good sealing performance, especially for high pressure.
