The 'S' type is a spiral wound gasket made by winding the metallic hoop and the non-metallic filler alternately in a spiral. It is mainly used for narrow areas, such as the tongue & groove flange; the process lines of water, steam, or petrochemical plants; or the spherical surface and flange used for the lines that use heat transfer oil. It is mainly used for pumps, casing covers, turbines, boiler manholes, valves, ultra-low temperature devices, and high-pressure, high-temperature equipment.
