The KR 4 is a copolymer of styrene and butadiene. Its combined styrene amount is 23.5% greater. It is the most frequently used general-purpose rubber among synthetic rubbers. It has many advances and applications similar to those of the natural rubber, and excellent wear resistance, aging resistance, electric property, winter-hardiness, and dynamic property. As a sealing product, it is mainly used for automotive brake oil, animal oil, vegetable oil, water, alcohol, etc. It is not appropriate for mineral oil, because it swells to a great degree.
