The KR 5 gasket uses Fluoro rubber, referred to as VITON rubber, which has fluorine atoms in its molecules. It has the most excellent thermal resistance, oil resistance, and chemical resistance. Its properties do not deteriorate as much even under temperatures of 200℃, so it can be used for the long term. Under certain conditions, it can be used for a short-term under the temperature of 300℃ or higher. In terms of oil resistance, it can be applied to mineral oil, animal oil, vegetable oil, phosphate ester system non-flammable hydraulic fluid, or synthetic lubricating oil. It has the best corrosion resistance against many acidic and alkali substances. However, it cannot be applied to organic acids, such as acetic acid; anhydrous ammonia, or high-temperature alkali; amines; ester; ether; ketone; etc.
